A new year, a clean slate. With a fresh calendar under our arms, we asked our partners to look back and look ahead to their projects, and their current situation. Eric Kuster Metropolitan Luxury is a Dutch interior designer with its own refined fabrics and furniture collection. We called him in between his two other planned phone calls to the other side of the world.
What is last year's project you are most proud of, and why?
‘Unfortunately, we cannot just pick one. Most of our projects are also top secret. But what drives us every day is that we’ve made every client happy. And we are very proud of that.’
What are you looking forward to professionally this year? What are the developments towards the future?
‘We’re working more and more for foreign clients and are happy to continue that drive. And we love challenge. So we’re happy to take on very complex projects as well.’
What would you like to realize within your sector that you have not yet been able to do?
‘Last year we were allowed to design a yacht’s interior. So it’s not unrealistic to dream of the interior design of a private jet. Or a private gym of the David Barton type, that seems to be quite something.’
Who is your client base usually?
‘This is usually the cream of the cream that has saved up to bring an Eric Kuster interior into their home.’
What do you wish for yourself and your (potential) clients for the new year, apart from a classic such as 'good health'?
‘That classic is absolutely not out of place. And we like to believe that this is the basis of a life on which you can build happiness. In addition, with the countless conflicts worldwide, we would like to wish humanity a little more mutual respect.’
