KP Town House is a testament to the artistry of Labscape Studio, a design firm that breathes life into spaces, infusing them with sophistication, modernity, and a touch of the past. This project, nestled in the heart of the enchanting ‘Quartier Brugmann’, is more than just a house; it's a cocoon within the bustling city. A cocoon designed for a Belgian family that craved charm, freshness, and a connection with nature.
The project is a reflection of Labscape Studio's design philosophy. It's a philosophy rooted in an unwavering attention to detail, a deep appreciation for noble and natural materials, and an ability to adapt to the architectural and interior cultures of different continents. Each project is a unique expression, influenced by its surroundings, embracing the climate, culture, materials, craftsmanship, and architecture of its location to create a harmonious and functional space. But, like every exceptional project, KP Town House comes with its own set of challenges. The client, an energy consultant, brought a unique perspective to the table. Together, they explored the spiritual and energetic aspects of the living environment. Light, internal balance, materials, and colors became key elements in crafting an atmosphere that nurtures productivity, circadian rhythms, and mental clarity. Elements of Feng Shui, such as the choice of colors and materials, were thoughtfully integrated, imbuing each corner with positivity and tranquility. Simplicity and playfulness coexist beautifully in this project. From the ground floor, where the oak floor creates a contemporary marquetry, to the living room adorned with Ploum sofas and Womb armchairs, the house is a testament to the interplay of materials. A sophisticated and functional kitchen, custom-designed by Labscape, showcases walnut furniture set against Italian vitrified tiles in various shades of green and brown. Walking through the house, you can see that natural materials predominate. The master bedroom exudes serenity with a Japanese-inspired headboard of natural cotton framed by solid walnut wood. Each bathroom is a unique oasis with carefully chosen colours and stucco. On the top floor there is even a small studio overlooking a semi-covered terrace, designed to offer fresh urban views of Brussels.
Light, internal balance, materials and colours were key elements in creating the atmosphere
The overarching message of KP Town House is one of peace and balance. It's a space that combines minimalism with natural textures and colors to create a serene and harmonious environment. Natural materials and colors are key components in fostering this calming atmosphere. Labscape Studio's love for interior design traces back to a passion for architecture, color, and texture. The founders, Tecla Tangorra and Robert Ivanov, bring their unique perspectives and deep-rooted affinities to create spaces that are both functional and beautiful. As for recognizing Labscape Studio's designs, their consistent attention to detail and a commitment to custom-made elements sets them apart. Each project is a unique and immersive experience, an embodiment of the local culture and the studio's unwavering dedication to creating timeless, enduring spaces. In essence, KP Town House is not just a residence; it's a journey through space, time, and culture. It's a testament to the enduring power of design to shape the human experience.
