In the picturesque countryside of Tyrol, Philipp Hoflehner, creative director and part of Bernd Gruber's management, found the perfect place for his family. The traditional house, an unexpected find, turned out to be the ideal basis for a space in which he could realise his personal vision, tailored to the needs of his wife and their two young children. To breathe new life into the house, the adaptations and renovations were entrusted to Bernd Gruber's team. The challenge was to preserve the character of the house while creating more openness and space, with a unique, personal touch.
The result is a masterful balance between timeless design and homely ambience. The interior was constructed from natural materials such as light plaster, oak and natural stone, giving the house a warm, soothing feel. Design classics and private art complement the rooms, while carefully chosen photographs and personal accessories give it a unique and intimate atmosphere. Here, children can run free and explore nature every day, while surrounded by an environment designed with love. Sustainability and robustness were taken into account in the design. Materials such as Perennials fabrics ensure that the furnishings will stay beautiful for years, even with daily family life. The heart of the house lies in creating a harmonious living space for the whole family. The open-plan living and dining room, enriched by a beautiful bay window and a handmade wooden panel, provides space for togetherness. This is where the family gathers for meals, games and quiet evenings. At the same time, sufficient attention has been paid to providing seclusion, with private spaces for each family member, where they can retreat to work, relax or dream. The house's location, with direct access to a spacious garden and unobstructed views across the meadows to the forest edge, invites an active and relaxed lifestyle. The garden offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities, while the terrace is the perfect place for long summer evenings or quiet moments overlooking nature. This connection to the outdoors is an important aspect of the design, and enhances the sense of freedom and space felt throughout the house.
