A new chapter begins with the iconic Palm Beach Complex in Cannes, seamlessly merging past and future. Renowned architecture firm Caprini & Pellerin, based in Cannes, was appointed in 2019 to breathe new life into this historic structure. The result is a visionary transformation that honours the rich heritage of the French Riviera, while re-establishing the building's place as an international icon of luxury and elegance.
Built in the 1920s by architect Roger Séassal, and once a meeting place for celebrities such as Grace Kelly and Picasso, the Palm Beach Complex went through numerous transformations. Bombings during World War II and subsequent modifications for casino operations damaged the original design. The swimming pool was removed and its decorative splendour was lost. Caprini & Pellerin's goal was clear: restore the soul of Palm Beach by reshaping the architecture and public spaces, while respecting its historical significance. Covering an area of 23,000 m², the project involved extensive renovation of both the exterior and the interior. The complex now houses numerous exclusive amenities, including the famous La Petite Maison restaurant, a casino, a members' bar, a fitness and wellness centre, and an event hall of more than 1,000 m². It also offers a shopping gallery with top brands such as Dior and Pucci, and has reclaimed its iconic seawater pool, as well as a private beach and pier. Each space was designed with meticulous attention to detail, combining traditional techniques and contemporary innovations. The architects took the building's rich Art Deco heritage as a starting point, but gave it a contemporary twist. The interior design balances between playful scenography and sophistication, making visitors feel immersed in a unique and immersive atmosphere.

The interior is inspired by a Provençal house, with soft Mediterranean colours and textures evoking a sense of authenticity and warmth. The sunny terrace overlooking the Lérins Islands enhances the connection with nature and provides a serene spot for culinary delights. The members' bar continues this idea of sophistication. The zinc counter with a braided leather finish, together with an amber glass chandelier, creates a theatrical atmosphere.T hese elements reflect the elegance of the Roaring Twenties, while modern materials and technologies add a contemporary edge.
The casino offers visitors a dramatic experience, with three entrances, each leading to a different world. Draperies, subtle lighting and elegant reception counters evoke the grandeur of the Art Deco period, inspired by films such as The Grand Budapest Hotel. Every detail, from the soft shapes to the interplay between smooth and rough textures, contributes to an unforgettable experience. The event hall, designed as a flexible space overlooking the sea, embodies the essence of high-end entertainment. It is a venue for international events, weddings and exclusive parties, where the breathtaking panorama of the French Riviera forms a natural backdrop. With the Palm Beach Complex, Caprini & Pellerin have delivered a masterpiece that embodies the essence of the French Riviera. The project combines architectural sophistication, modern comfort and respect for historical heritage. The restoration breathes new life into a location that has been a magnet for the international elite for almost a century. With an eye on future success and enduring appeal, the Palm Beach Complex reaffirms its status as a true jewel of Cannes. A place where nostalgia and progress come together harmoniously.
