- Interior
Grey Road, a project by interior design studio Montana Burnett Design, embodies a traditional makeover with a modern twist. The house has been carefully designed to take a journey through textures, materials and earth tones, creating a unique yet timeless aesthetic.
The entrance to the house immediately sets the tone for what follows. Here, the walls feature subtle movement thanks to Bauwerk (Bone) lime paint. This choice of lime paint creates a soft and natural look that perfectly complements the rest of the interior elements. The bespoke, seamlessly milled woodwork and Louka Hardware console and milling pulls give the entrance a bespoke elegance. The marble and travertine chequered floor adds an intriguing element that leads visitors to the kitchen and family room, where lime paint meets softly raked microcement. This combination creates a harmonious interplay between the different spaces. The kitchen pays homage to the futuristic aesthetic of the 1960s Jetson era, but with a neutral undertone that keeps things modern. The informal dining area, featuring a custom-made natural wood table and Rainer Daumiller pine chairs, gives a nod to vintage design. The delicate marble touches in the kitchen add a soft, warm feel to this space, which acts as the heart of the home. The formal living room and dining room at Grey Road are designed for entertaining. The living room exudes a sense of luxury and comfort, with pink tones and soft layers enhanced by the sumptuous, hand-dyed Armadillo rug. The interplay of warm, vintage woods with cream bouclé, reverse lamb and soft wool creates an inviting atmosphere.
Microcement coffee tables in warm white create a focal point in the space, while a pink side table in the same material adds a subtle pop of colour to the room. Organic textures and antique accents, such as the rattan ceiling pendant and fireplace tapestry, add a sophisticated and interesting touch. The dining room combines Italian eccentricity and relaxed elegance. The glass palmette chandelier adds a touch of playfulness, while the sleek microcement dining table, light wood and rattan dining chairs, and soft linen window treatments create a serene and inviting atmosphere. Bone Bauwerk lime paint on the walls adds to the calm feel of the space.

The upper level houses a secluded primary suite, designed for ultimate comfort and relaxation. Woven grasscloth wall and ceiling coverings, a custom curved headboard and bed upholstered in soft bouclé, and a hand-knotted wool Armadillo rug create a warm and inviting environment. Deep, plush velvet curtains lead to the primary ensuite, which exudes a spa-like atmosphere. Here, soft stone tiles, microcement and limewash come together to create a space of tranquility and reflection. Grey Road exudes an effortless glow through the thoughtful combination of materials and textures, resulting in a timeless yet distinctive interior. The project reflects the signature style of Montana Burnett Design, known for its fresh and eclectic approach to interior design.
