Founded in Barcelona, Thinking Mu is a sustainable fashion brand that excels in eco-friendly and ethical production practices. Combining high quality with contemporary style, the brand minimises its environmental impact by using organic materials such as cotton, hemp and recycled fibres. Thinking Mu guarantees fair working conditions throughout the supply chain, contributing to a responsible textile industry. Transparency and continuous innovation are core values of the brand, which offers consumers a clear picture of its production processes and materials. Thinking Mu's Barcelona shop is more than a retail outlet; it is a space that celebrates art and design, while promoting sustainability and community. The design is inspired by the Mediterranean and provides an inviting environment for interaction and creativity.
The shop's façade is a transparent masterpiece of glass, which literally and figuratively opens up the shop to the city. Thinking Mu's products are displayed like works of art behind the glass façade, piquing the curiosity of passers-by. Terracotta elements create a warm and earthy look, making the shop stand out in the urban environment. An illuminated sign with the brand logo, in the shape of a sun, attracts attention and symbolises the brand's energy and warmth. Moreover, a practical closure allows coffee to be served directly to passers-by, adding to the community atmosphere. Upon entering, visitors are welcomed by a coffee area, placed right next to the entrance. This space, with a custom-made stainless steel bar and lit by a & Tradition VP1 lamp, serves as a meeting point and enhances the sense of community. Two curved platforms act as display cases, subtly guiding visitors into the shop. Design continuity is ensured by using the same terracotta colour as the façade.
The tunnel, finished in terracotta clay mortar paint, offers a sustainable and eco-friendly option
The main area of the shop is furnished with custom-made display elements that are not only functional but also presented as works of art. A large work table with microcement finish offers two levels for displaying different products. A striking iron shelf, with an elegant curve, gives a modern feel to the space and reflects the brand's innovative design. Iron easels have been used to hang garments, supported by a solid stone on one side and a spherical base on the other. This combination of geometric shapes and natural materials reinforces the brand identity, where nature and modernity go hand in hand. The most striking element in the shop is the curved tunnel connecting the main area to the next space. Finished in terracotta clay mortar paint, the tunnel offers a sustainable and eco-friendly option. A mirror at the end of the tunnel creates an illusion of infinity, creating a sensory experience that encourages exploration and imagination. The tunnel's colour and shape contribute to a dreamlike atmosphere that invites visitors to explore further.
After the tunnel, visitors enter a space reminiscent of a dream world. This space, designed for events and presentations, features curved stands resembling an amphitheatre. A large circular opening in the ceiling emits subtle light through a fabric illuminated from behind, adding to the surreal ambience. Beneath this zenithal light, a sculpture by Sara Regal, made from debris generated after the renovation, serves as a coffee table. This artwork again emphasises the sustainability and creativity at the heart of Thinking Mu. At the end of the shop are the testers, spaces that offer privacy as well as aesthetic and artistic cohesion. Sculptural walls continue the concept of artistic elements and ensure that the entire shop remains a fluid and inviting environment.
Thinking Mu's shop is an inspiring space that promotes art and creativity. The design reflects the brand's values through the use of sustainable materials and artistic elements. With a careful balance between design and functionality, the shop offers a unique aesthetic experience that invites visitors to become part of a community that embraces sustainability and imagination.
