Every interior is a constant search for beauty and emotion, and this is also the case in Balzar Arquitectos' projects. Thanks to their human approach, the concepts of this Valencia-based studio effortlessly stand the test of time. Their authentic approach is illustrated in their most recent project, an apartment building called Ontinyent.
The residential building in Ontinyent dates from 1982 and consists of four floors and an attic. The elongated rectangular plot currently houses two duplex flats, a shop on the first floor and a warehouse. Balzar Arquitectos , a renowned architectural firm based in Valencia, Spain, was commissioned to renovate both the interior and exterior of the residential building, dividing the renovation into phases. The first phase focuses on the ground floor, which is nearing completion. They are currently starting the project of the first and second floors and the complete restoration of the facade, which is characterised by the vertical balconies of traditional houses in the centre of Ontinyent. With one clear aim: to create a contemporary aesthetic, respecting the aesthetics of the historic centre, protected by architectural quality. 
A contemporary aesthetic while respecting the building's history
The aim of the project is to create an impeccable design that not only meets the basic needs of the residents, but also creates the right atmosphere to contribute to the happiness and well-being of those who will live there. Therefore, the team sees this work as a contribution to the improvement of their built and living environment, fully inspired by the pursuit of beauty. Beauty that serves society, improves people's lives and contributes to a better world.
The main idea of the project is to create a proposal with simple and proportioned lines that integrate every detail naturally, creating an atmosphere of serenity and well-being in each of the project's spaces. The result of all that thinking is a building with a particularly strong character. With its simple lines and warm colours, one experiences an intimate comfort here. The residents come home to an oasis of calm that they will be able to enjoy to the full for many years to come. In short, once again Balzar Arquitectos managed to design a gem of architecture.
