Against the backdrop of a turbulent time, the project designed by MODEKTURA Studio on Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Street in Kiev stands as a testament to resilience and creativity. Despite the challenges of large-scale invasion and frequent power cuts, their team persevered and turned adversity into opportunity.
MODEKTURA Studio embodies the fusion of beauty and functionality by designing interiors that elevate both form and purpose. Our mission is to ensure that clients never have to compromise on the aesthetics or practicality of their spaces, allowing them to get maximum enjoyment from every angle. We would like to take you through their most recent project.
Located in a historic 1900 residential building, the flat features classic architecture characterised by high ceilings and elegant details. Inspired by the characteristic features, such as the spacious hallway-gallery, loggia and balcony, they embarked on a journey to reshape the space as a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. Central to the design concept is the corridor, which acts as the beating heart of the flat and seamlessly connects all spaces into a cohesive whole. Enhanced arches and meticulous attention to detail create sophistication in every corner, turning visual distractions into design opportunities. Working closely with their client, they curated an exquisite selection of vintage and contemporary pieces, combining classic elements with mid-century design.

From iconic Cassina chairs to timeless lighting fixtures by Louis Poulsen and Flos, each choice reflects a dedication to timeless elegance and nostalgia. Materials were carefully chosen to evoke a sense of stability and tranquillity, with tinted oak, marble, stainless steel and brass lending their timeless allure to the space. Experimental touches, such as sand-rubbed terrazzo floors and plasterwork embedded with marble, add depth and character to the design. Art in all its forms is seamlessly woven into the interior, enriching the aesthetic tapestry. Sculptures, paintings and diptychs by renowned artists serve as eye-catchers and invite contemplation and conversation. 
This project is a testament to the enduring power of design and creativity. It is a reminder that even in the darkest of times, beauty and innovation triumph and offer comfort and inspiration to all who encounter them.
