Based in West London, Blank Slate Studio is renowned for its masterful approach to creating exceptional spaces, and its latest project, a stunning pool house, is no exception. Five years after completing a beautiful main residence, the team was invited back to design a complementary space that completely redefines the art of entertaining in harmony with nature. The result is an architectural gem that creates a perfect connection between interior and landscape.
The pool house nestles against a breathtaking backdrop of rolling meadows and ancient woodland. The design emphasises the visual continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces. Warm wood panelling on the ceiling flows effortlessly into bespoke kitchen cabinets, while honey-coloured limestone flagstones underfoot reinforce the natural palette. A carefully selected marble collection captures the blue-green reflections of the swimming pool, creating an ever-changing visual focal point that connects water, interior and sky. 
The hand-plastered walls in soft, earthy tones add depth and sophistication, while the wet areas are finished with microcement in a rich, date-coloured shade, transforming functional spaces into intimate cocoons. Each piece of furniture has been custom designed and crafted by Blank Slate Studio, creating a harmonious integration with the architecture. The result is a pool house that is both large enough for extended family gatherings and intimate enough for personal reflection. 
The pool house kitchen celebrates the surrounding landscape through carefully selected materials and a subtle, thoughtful design. The hand-picked marble echoes the organic palette of the space, while the wooden ceilings and limestone floors add warmth and texture. The dining area is dominated by a large, custom-made oak table that overlooks the forest and meadows beyond. 
A pool house that does not compete with nature, but celebrates it
The pool house invites relaxation and luxury. A spacious sofa and oversized pouffe, upholstered in high-quality indoor/outdoor fabric, combine comfort with durability. Outside, striped sun loungers and a copper-coloured outdoor shower add playful and elegant accents, while the planting enhances the feeling of a natural extension of the interior space. 
With this project, Blank Slate Studio demonstrates the power of thoughtful use of materials, subtle design and harmony with nature. The pool house is more than an architectural masterpiece: it is a timeless space where life, relaxation and beauty merge seamlessly.
