In the shadow of their impressive foreign career, this client reveals the masterful design of Residence ST in Belgium. With a monumental entrance hall as the beating heart of the concept, not just a home is created here, but also a timeless work of art. The architectural and interior design grapples with the soul of the house, enveloped in luxury and sophistication.
The home embraces authentic and natural materials, of which natural stone plays an undeniable role, flowing throughout the property. Even outside, these materials find their way. Contemporary forms with classic stylistic elements, such as moulures, plinths and high ceilings, mark the sophistication of this architectural gem. Here, the kitchen, bar and sitting area blend harmoniously with the luxurious furnishings that are our partner Mieke Van Herck Architects’ signature.
With a bold move, the team explored deeper tones and embraced several warm variations of taupe, the favourite colour of the lady of the house. On the upper floor, this choice leads to a secure, sophisticated, and luxurious look. Black marble accents, deep dark Mortex in the shower and steel doors are eye-catchers. The master bedroom shines in the glamour of a designer boutique, with a freestanding bathtub as a showpiece.
Details do make a difference
Details do make a difference. This is proven by the polished mirror surround in the dressing room that adds an extra touch of chic, while black marble, dark Mortex and a freestanding round tub bring unparalleled luxury to the bathroom. The spacious basement space transformed from a mancave into an exclusive haven with a home cinema, pool room, corner lounge with fireplace, bar, and gym. Every square metre is utilised. A custom-made artwork by Steve Locatelli, inspired by a piece of marble running through the house, adorns the entrance to this underground oasis. The final stop is the pool house, inspired by Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona pavilion. Sleek design, natural stone finishes and bronze accents make it an extension of the unique style that characterises the work of Mieke Van Herck.
This design was clearly not just an architectural proposal. It flows into a symphony of craftsmanship, refinement, and a harmonious union of art, luxury, and design. In every detail, choice and nook echoes the dedication to preserving architectural knowledge and creating a liveable, inviting environment.
