A superb example of this philosophy translates into the family home built by Mieke Van Herck architects in Morkhoven. Here, the main role is given to wood, both inside and outside, with old Beerse stone and paepe stone coming together harmoniously with natural-coloured afrormosia wood. This choice of materials not only creates a visually appealing contrast, but also brings warmth and character to the house. The careful placement of the house maximises contact with nature, with the trees in the garden becoming an organic part of the living environment. 
Inside, the house exudes an atmosphere of cosiness and modernity. Wood is ubiquitous, from high-quality veneers to natural materials carefully selected. The kitchen, as the beating heart of the house, radiates warmth with travertine and transparent textiles, creating a minimalist aesthetic. The sense of connection with the garden is intensified by panoramic windows, which can be fully opened in summer, blurring the boundary between inside and outside.

The upper floor is a masterpiece in itself, where residents are immersed in a luxurious hotel atmosphere. The master bedroom, like a true suite, exudes sophistication with gold accents. Even the freestanding bathtub, surrounded by microtopping and minimalist elements, is a work of art in itself. Wooden building elements and reclaimed flat tiles on the roof are the icing on the cake, where rural and modern elements merge into a harmonious whole. 
With this creation, Mieke Van Herck architects has once again proved that her signature goes beyond aesthetically pleasing designs; it is a lifestyle that promises a unique living experience.
