In the residential area of Bosques de las Lomas in Mexico, a residence has been designed that combines simplicity with plain walls, wide views and soothing patios. It was architectural firm Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos who designed the project. The residence became an interplay of heights and compositions of natural materials and got the typical western Mexican characteristics.
"This Mexican residence in the Bosques de las Lomas residential area is surrounded by large granite walls, but still feels very spacious."
The layout of the house creates an integrated environment with gardens that embrace the living spaces. In the surrounding gardens are reflective swimming pools with amorphous sculptures. The inner patio, which provides access to the basement-level parking area, is surrounded by walls of structured granite. Although they enclose you, you retain the enormous feeling of space due to the light colors and the abundance of greenery.
A subtle stone staircase leads you to the wooden front door which invites you to enter. The inherent width of the residence extends to the large exterior windows. From there you have a wide view of the green surroundings.
