French tradition and expertise are Jérôme Bugara’s priorities. The interior architect and designer has already convincingly earned his stripes as representative from national excellence. With his own furniture collections, he echoes the French refinement and class he loves so dearly himself. Full of elegance, harmonious lines and often with a curvy nature, his creations are not missed by a single lover of design with a luxury aura.
It was at the prestigious École Boulle in Paris that Jérôme Bugara graduated. Initially, he was born in Lyon in 1970, but already at a young age he was immersed by the city of light. Since 2015, he leads his own interior design studio, and in 2022 he decided to also found Jérôme Bugara Editions, with which he presents coveted collections of furniture and objects. Characterising for his approach is that he works with French partners only. He namely strives to support and protect the national craftsmanship as much as possible. In the past, he was already involved in some of the most exclusive sorts of projects, such as renovations of historic chateaux and restaurant concepts for chefs who hold Michelin stars. Starting from his unshakable loyalty to French quality, he kneads the wishes and personality from his clients into a coherent whole that leaves room for a hint of eclecticism. Today, however, we focus on his separate pieces. His tasteful concoctions already caught the eye of several respected organisations in the design industry, among which the familiar gallery STUDIOTWENTYSEVEN. Here, you will find for example the Amélie collection, named after his daughter. One of the showpieces from this selection is without a doubt the enormous sofa that reaches up to seven metres.

According to Bugara, each object is an interaction with the material in question. Again, his sincere respect for his craft clearly takes centre stage, together with his intuition for opulent design choices. In collaboration with Rémy Garnier, one of the oldest French houses in luxury hardware, he developed the Fleur de Lys collection. Switches, handles and more with the splendour of Versailles that originated from this are perhaps the most literal expression of his will to keep the French design history alive. Furthermore, he took on projects with Bracq and artist Marie Field. His collaboration with the former consisted, among others, of a wine cabinet provided with delicate, feminine elements. In total, he has also designed numerous sofas and fauteuils, which all carry a special, almost historic atmosphere. Nevertheless, he has likewise tried his hand at a TV cabinet, where he needed to respond to rather technological issues. Even though his creations are often maximally devoted to making a visual impression, he simultaneously reasons from the factual ease of use and establishes creations that more than live up to today’s comfort standards.
Only few designers are as inspired by French design as Jérôme Bugara. His portfolio reads like a continuous ode to his national pride. We are confident that many more successes are to come for this creative talent and wish him more future fruitful professional relations.
