A Deumain Studios is the creative collaboration of Marion Selma Gamba and Julien Peltier, a place where art, design, and craftsmanship come together in unique, handmade pieces. Neither of them received formal training in furniture design, yet fate brought them together and sparked a shared passion for form, material, and expression. Their journey is one of curiosity, adventure, and a continuous search for beauty in simplicity.
Marion Selma Gamba, born in France and trained at the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the London College of Fashion, spent many years as a fashion designer for brands such as Chloé, Balenciaga, and Aritzia. Her time in the fashion world sharpened her eye for detail, material, and elegance—qualities she now translates into interior objects and furniture design.
Julien Peltier, also French, began his career in the art world in Paris before moving into the film industry in Vancouver. His work draws strong inspiration from brutalist and minimalist movements, embracing the raw, unpolished beauty of materials. Together, Marion and Julien form a complementary duo, balancing poetic subtlety with refined purity.
After periods living in Paris and Vancouver, they recently settled in Montreal, where their studio brings ceramics and woodworking together. Prototyping and production coexist side by side, creating an environment where ideas come to life immediately. Every piece produced here is both sculptural and functional, inviting touch, use, and admiration.
Each object tells a story of material, craftsmanship, and imagination
A Deumain Studios celebrates the inherent character of materials. Each piece is carefully and patiently handcrafted, with texture, form, and tactility at its heart. Their designs are timeless, meant to be cherished across generations. In their collection, brutalist restraint meets organic softness: clay and wood serve as the foundation, and each object tells a story of material, craftsmanship, and imagination.
Marion and Julien alternate roles in the creative process, ensuring that every design achieves a harmonious balance between functionality and artistic intent. They see space as a place to let beauty speak—everyday objects can become sources of emotion and connection.
We have already selected some of our favorites—pieces that perfectly capture the vision of A Deumain Studios while possessing a timeless appeal, ready to be cherished and passed down through generations.
