- Interior
Pleasant interiors attract attention without losing their balance. The right gradation of playfulness, surprise, and boldness produces a successful result that makes residents happy and visitors join in the fun. Today, we seek out a solid project in Tribeca, New York. Get inspired with this historic loft with classic architecture and contemporary interpretation.
Laseu Studio has only been around for a few years, since 2020, but their portfolio suggests otherwise. Founders Natalia Coll and Santiago Hinojos share the common goal of designing innovative spaces, both commercial and residential. Their projects are spread across North America, Europe, and Asia. The two-headed team's multidisciplinary approach means that not only interior design is their familiar territory, but furniture design is also in their fingers. As both already have extensive experience within the industry, they are rightly confident on their own feet. Their first collaboration took place in a hotel project in China, where Coll handled the furniture design and Hinojos was responsible for the interiors. That combination proved to work extremely well, and their new projects are further proof of that, including the impressive Tribeca Residence.
Pronounced accents and decoration guarantee a playful finish
Naturally, you can find this inviting loft located in New York's neighbourhood of the same name. In a pre-war building dating back to 1860, the duo were brought in to carry out a thorough renovation. The result is contemporary without weakening the building's strong connection to its past. With high ceilings, windows facing south and a living space with an open floor plan, the project convinces you from the first steps inside. Originally, the property has a traditional, monochrome architecture that has been enhanced here with rich textures and high-end materials. The latter two have been woven into a seamless combination, meaning you can easily oversee the visual picture. Designed as an extension of the living room, the kitchen was given a fresh update with light cabinets and a worktop in outstanding Carrara marble. The fireplace contains the same material, creating a strong continuity. In the furniture selection, you can notice designs in oak veneer that were specially custom-made. Pronounced accents and decoration guarantee a playful finish. Tribeca Residence introduces you to the ambitious Laseu Studio. By making a loft in a stately, historic building relevant again to today's living requirements, they showcase their skills in a way that will stay with both us and you. The balanced interior manages to intrigue you to just the right degree. Photography by Reynald Philippe and Margot Roybier
