Berlin- and Antwerp-based architecture and design firm MVP was founded in 2021 by Sascha Mayer and Tom Van Puyvelde. Thanks to their dedication to creating spaces that elevate life experiences, they know how to set themselves apart. As experts in architectural, interior and object design as well as a large dose of art integration, they already have several residential and hospitality projects in various European destinations to their credit.
With a shared passion for creativity and design, the love story between Sascha Mayer & Tom Van Puyvelde with the art of designing spaces began long before the founding of the design agency called MVP. Van Puyvelde, with a background in architecture and fine art, and Mayer, who worked in brand development and business consulting, found a meeting point where their shared affinity for creative work came together. Their work came not only from a mutual connection, but was shaped by a shared love of aesthetics, artistic references and the profound impact of spatial design. Their journey, though rooted in different origins, grew into a collaboration that harmonised different influences and skills. The canvas of their achievements is painted with strokes of innovation and dedication. All this certainly contributed to their vision for their latest project: Casa Serena. ‘We immediately succumbed to the enchanting charm of the Comporta region, a place where tranquillity and atmosphere dance in harmony,’ we hear from them. Deep dialogues on creativity, art, architecture and design fuelled their collaboration and propelled us to push boundaries. We spoke with them about their values, contextual approach to each project, among other things, and they also took us to the promising refuge Casa Serena.

Their core values; simplicity, harmony, quality and context, serve as a compass for each project. As such, they aim to weave an artistic, poetic and grounded story that resonates with the spirit of a space. As they chart their course as interior designers, their ambitions extend beyond the horizon. ‘We see a global presence ahead of us and would love to work with people who share our vision of a contextual approach to architectural and interior design. It's about creating spaces that exude life and that bridge individuality with the universal language of design. When you uncover the layers of our lives, many will be surprised to discover their humble origins in small towns and rural areas - Sascha in Cologne and Tom in Antwerp,’ they tell us.
Indeed, their roots ground them and remind them that greatness can come from the humblest of beginnings. The message they want to share with the world transcends the tangible. Their design philosophy is about imbuing the spirit of your work with a timeless essence. In a world that is constantly changing, the spirit persists and reverberates beyond the boundaries of earthly existence. Names like Kanye West, Rick Rubin, Adrian Zecha and Axel Vervoordt. It is a testament to our belief that creativity knows no boundaries and that inspiration can come from unexpected places. For them, real life is the art of purposeful living, creating projects that enrich the soul. According to the duo, it is about investing time wisely, surrounded by people and pursuits that ignite the flame of passion within you. Of course, we can only agree with this.
