Rudy Guénaire debuts his first collection, Croisière, in collaboration with Monde Singulier and invites travel to distant worlds. Paying homage to the timeless chairs of the Bauhaus era, Beau Rivage evokes the romantic, erudite, carefree spirit of Mitteleuropa, when souls travelled oceans to witness the birth of Chicago's first skyscrapers. Beau Rivage feels like a perpetual presence, as if it has always graced our surroundings.
Rudy Guénaire, artistic director and co-founder of PNY (Paris New York), has been designing the interiors of his restaurants himself for the past two years. The 30-year-old learned his trade as an interior designer late in life, when he encountered new people and new projects. His passion for design is certainly not new. When he and his partner Graffi Rathamohan launched their high-quality burger concept in 2012, his ambition was to revisit traditional American eateries with an original and demanding architectural interpretation. It's an idea that germinated in his mind during a sabbatical through the United States. We are happy to take you through the innovative pieces of this extraordinary collection.
Rudy Guénaire's Croisière Collection brings together luxury and creativity
Vaporetto to Murano, a bench made of varnished wood and mohair velvet, offers one-, two- and three-person seating and is reminiscent of the sea-sprayed, sun-drenched, salt-laden crossing that the scenic Vaporetto makes every hour from Venice to the beautiful glass island of Murano.
Going to the Moon, a star-shaped wall lamp, emits delicate light through milky opaline, which becomes warm when dimmed. The chrome structure evokes images of a sci-fi spaceship, while the wooden version transforms the lamp into an almost Japanese-inspired fixture.
Cabin View, a porthole mirror of delicate cream lacquered wood, framed in certain versions with lacquered wood, is inspired by the portholes of early long-haul aircraft and 1970s buildings, where facades often consisted of window modules. Because there is no better view of the earth than from above. There is also a beautiful table made of varnished wood, limestone and aluminium called Yachting in Acapulco Bay.It features a base that leaves an almost tribal pattern on the table top, a beautiful piece of polished limestone with soft grooves on the edges. We are huge fans of these beautiful pieces and are only too happy to share them with you!
