- Interior
There is no place for excess in the portfolio of interior architect Britt Thomas. In her design vision, rooms where high-end subtility is at the centre triumph, and this home in Bruges, Belgium confirms that once more. We are happy to take you along to this memorable project, where every choice was made with eye for the bigger whole.
As our partner, we mainly know Britt Thomas for the great balance in the end result of every commission. Proportions, material, and light are the main components that she beautifully combines. Naturally, this time was no exception. Namely, she created an interior where every square metre contains this characterising calmness, yet there are numerous elements that call for your attention. The open living area consists of the kitchen, a dining zone, and a living room. In the latter, our eyes quickly gaze at the two long, arched niches on both sides of the fireplace. These offer many possibilities to place decoration or could perfectly serve to display books, for example. The dark cabinet piece in the middle is right to put the built-in fireplace in the spotlight and hides possible clutter out of sight. The grey sofa easily goes together with the warmer colour of the wood, while the floor and the walls help to enhance the tranquillity thanks to their neutral tones.
Eye for detail is a continuous priority
When you move your point of focus to the kitchen, you notice a pretty variation in the selection of colours. That is to say, one of the walls is covered in a marvellous shade of green. Eye for detail is a continuous priority for Thomas, which you can see here for instance in the tap work and the spotlights above the niches in the living area that were clearly aligned in terms of colour. Next to this, the dining area straightforwardly invites you to a cosy dinner, a fun game night, or simply a quiet moment. In each zone of this home, you are guaranteed to experience the serene ambience that the interior architect had in mind when designing. Here in Bruges, our partner Britt Thomas could convince Imagicasa once more of the ease with which she accommodates the building stones of an interior to her hand. This appealing home rests upon a range of nice details, muted colours, and an open layout. We are already looking forward to the next thing she will present to us!
