Design and technology can strengthen one another and create stunning images together. Today, we introduce you to a project that consists of delicate details and that can be read as a reflection on nature. Generating material mood boards was a leading step in the design process, and we are happy to tell you more about how these final images came to be.
Previously, 3D artist and architectural designer George Hutchins worked in London, but nowadays you can find him in Bali. There, he is involved in numerous residential projects, and he can enjoy the above-average nature that typifies this place every day. Before, he came home in Barcelona for a while, and the previous eight years many beautiful commissions have crossed his path, which led him to discover a lot of beautiful places in the world. In July of 2022, he was one of the first to experiment with the beta version of Midjourney, the well-known program that employs artificial intelligence. Since then, he has been possessed by the possibilities that it offers and he uses it on his own work, meaning also on this design. Concretely, the system allows him to generate mood boards of materials with which he takes his ideas to a higher level and improves the quality of the creative product. The same happened with this project. Even though the idea may be a bit abstract at first, the final results prove that an intersection of technology, design, and nature delivers a wonderful outcome.

The natural surroundings and the matters that you find in it were the most important guiding tool for the project in question. This time, the designer worked with travertine in a soft cream colour, woods with warm textures, and natural stone. Furthermore, he explored the differences that shadows can make, because by handling light and its absence in a certain way, each space develops an atmosphere that is just a little different. A peaceful ambience frames each image that the artist presents. The seascape is an absolute enhancement of this, as well as the pool that the residents dispose over. The fencing around guarantees more than enough privacy. Different trees and plants promote the surrounding flora to a fixed part of the home, among which a huge tree that flaunts next to a lounge spot. For a long time, it has been common knowledge that incorporating nature in your home is an effective tool to experience the benefits of a calming effect.
Simplicity is grace, which is certainly proven by these frames. By making use of artificial intelligence when determining the materials and refining the overall creative output of it, the designer obtained a result that makes the fusion of his own ideas and the ingenious systems concrete.
