Leading studio named Daniel Boddam for architecture, interiors, furniture and lighting, is proud to announce the opening of its first showroom in the heart of Collingwood in Melbourne, Australia. The aim was to give the space a warm and homely feel. A task they accomplished with flying colours.
Australia's Daniel Boddam Studio is architecture and design practice driven by a commitment to simplicity. Boddam founded his eponymous studio in 2013 and quickly focused on ‘the poetry of reduction’ - his unique belief that a sense of calm and well-being can be achieved through design. Regardless of expression, he also seeks to inspire a human engagement and connection with nature while celebrating craft. Recently, the Sydney-based studio opened an impressive furniture and lighting gallery in Melbourne. It comprises a changing range of the studio's designed furniture and lighting collections, as well as a carefully curated selection of art and décor. Following Daniel Boddam Studio's vision to inspire a sense of calm and well-being through design, the gallery creates an experiential journey for visitors. The commitment to simplicity is reflected in the gallery's warm yet minimalist design, with all floors, walls and ceilings painted in the same neutral paint colour to create a cocoon-like environment, which ultimately draws attention to the craftsmanship of the furniture and lighting.

‘Expanding the presence of Daniel Boddam Studio is an incredible milestone for our brand. For example, the historic storefront in Collingwood provided an unassuming canvas to showcase our furniture and lighting pieces amidst one of Melbourne's most vibrant creative hubs,’ we hear from director Daniel Boddam. Their aim was to create a quiet, meditative space that invites visitors to engage with our guiding values of simplicity, originality, relationships and respect. Each quarter, the gallery will showcase a new arrangement of furniture and lighting, showcasing the breadth of the catalogue as well as the latest product releases such as the Leaf Sconce, Hinterland Stools and Booham Chairs. A curation of art and décor by valuable artists and artisans will complete the show, offering a harmonious expression of design, craft, materials and nature. More so, his latest collection called Prism will be launched at the same time as the opening. It is a collection of tables that continues the studio's exploration of sacred geometry. Prism has evolved into organic, crystalline forms with striking silhouettes and expressive materials imbued with a sense of mystery. The architectural and organic Prism collection is available in round, oval, tall, side table and coffee table configurations in a range of sustainably managed woods. In short, Daniel Boddam Studio, has managed to transform the space into a homely, dynamic showroom. A handsome achievement that we believe will not go unnoticed.
