In the vibrant heart of Singapore, Right Angle Studio is proud to present their latest masterpiece, The Rasidence. Following the success of 'Residence L', this duplex apartment marks a new chapter in the studio's design journey. The Residence harmoniously combines elements from the past, present and future to create a cohesive spatial experience that pushes boundaries and inspires.
Upon entering The Rasidence, you are immediately enveloped by an environment that perfectly balances minimalism and purpose. Every zone in the apartment has been carefully designed to facilitate gatherings and encourage deep conversations. The dining area, with its custom-made display shelf seamlessly integrated into the walls, is a shining example of this harmonious design. This shelf, both functional and aesthetic, creates a space that is both practical and poetic. The inviting open kitchen acts as a tribute to the heart of the house. The bar, rich in heritage and modern in execution, urges social interaction and culinary experiences. In the living room, sliding ash screens elegantly divide the space, while offering a glimpse of the serene outdoor garden, which brings a sense of tranquillity and continuity. A planted tree on the ground floor symbolises the journey and growth of life, seamlessly inviting nature into the living space. The staircase has undergone a complete metamorphosis, and now rests on two wooden foundation platforms, with an updated orientation that improves access to the upper floor. This change adds a dynamic element to the space that is both visually and functionally enriching.
In the living room, sliding ash screens divide the space
Upstairs, a skylight floods the mezzanine with brilliant light, transforming the previously dim atmosphere. The centrepiece of the upper floor is a minimalist wall artwork, sculpted by light in the shape of a hook. This artwork gives the space a contemporary allure and a sense of timeless beauty. The master bedroom's bedhead, which retains the curved volumes of the original structure, exudes continuity and elegance. Artificial skylights bring light into the bathrooms, where minimalist shapes set the tone. Cream and neutral tones dominate the colour palette, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the apartment. The Rasidence is more than just a place to call home; it is a living document of the evolution of Right Angle Studio's design story. It reflects their commitment to creating spaces that are timeless and captivating.
