In Huesca, Spain, Masquespacio took care of the interior of a restaurant where a healthy lifestyle forms the basis. The final result reinforces that concept by returning to shapes and colours from nature. This further highlights the restaurant's sensory experiences.
Founded in 2010 by Ana Milena Hernández Palacios and Christophe Penass, Spanish studio Masquespacio combines its founders' two disciplines of interior design and marketing. With this unique approach, they create innovative concepts that have already received a lot of international recognition. In recent years, they have presented projects in Norway, the United States, France, Portugal, Germany and their home country Spain. It is also there that this new project is located.
The organic shapes make you feel like you are walking through the forest
Pukkel is a restaurant located in Huesca, in northern Spain, that focuses on healthy dishes. When owners Jorge and Mikel developed their concept, they contacted Masquespacio for an interior that could further highlight the sensory experiences. The pair decided quite early on to work with all-natural materials to integrate nature into the space. Also important was a connection between the city and the range of healthy dishes. They found this in the beauty of the surrounding mountains and parks, which fits in with Pukkel's healthy lifestyle concept. For the colours, the team went for a palette reminiscent of the earth, with different shades of brown, white and green. A hint of gold adds some sophistication to the spaces. 
The organic shapes complete the look and make you feel like you are walking through the forest. With terracotta in the floors, bars and some of the walls, a rustic aspect is added. The patterns were designed by Masquespacio specifically for Pukkel. A path leads guests through the restaurant, while circular patterns are painted around the table, creating a kind of personal bubble. The use of rough stucco is also a reference to the earth and mountains. The flowers and plants in the restaurant change according to the season.
The Valencia-based creative studio can count on a strong vision that draws on the expertise of its founders. This is reflected in the unique interior of this restaurant, which makes the gastronomic experience even more unforgettable.
