This new home, by interior design studio Bergman & Co., embraces a carefully designed masonry facade that makes a statement without overdoing it. They combined this with a smart planning and a modest material palette to enhance scale and connection.
Upon entering the home, the eye is immediately drawn to a narrow reflection pool that dramatically opens the view to the rear boundary of the lot. This thoughtful arrangement guides movement and creates a sense of generosity, making each step an experience in itself. At the heart of the home is a central sunken lounge, equipped with a fireplace and multi-purpose plinth, which provides a layered environment for entertaining or simply unwinding. Behind this space extends a wood-clad kitchen, anchored by a curved bench of blush-onyx. The room presents itself as a natural gathering place for socialising and dining, with a side view of the pool and courtyard. 
As you ascend the wood-clad staircase, the home's private quarters embrace a soothing atmosphere characterised by simple shapes and curved profiles that reinforce domestic rituals. Finely crafted wood joinery, tactile finishes and subtle details create a serene coherence in every room: a relaxing atmosphere highlighted by an intimate rooftop terrace with sweeping views of the Melbourne skyline. Here, high above the city, you can escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy a moment of reflection while taking in the splendour of the surroundings.
