- Interior
In this home, the architect's vision plays a crucial role in the interior design, carried out by Justien Lescouhier. The choices in materials and attention to detail are evident in the design, which means that the interior and architecture mutually reinforce each other.
Inside the house, the aim was to create a warm, minimalist atmosphere, achieved through clean lines and a play of volumes that flow seamlessly into each other. This is further emphasised by carefully selected materials. The combination of a clean design with characterful materials such as veneers, bronze and natural stone gives the house a pure character that needs little decoration to create a homely atmosphere. Besides the visual aspect, great attention has also been paid to functionality. Practical and stylish elements are in perfect harmony, contributing to a serene and inviting environment where residents can relax. The heart of the home is the spacious open-plan kitchen. The design of the kitchen island makes it a striking element that invites cooking. Behind it is a sleek appliance wall equipped with modern amenities. The slide-in cabinets allow appliances to be seamlessly integrated into the design, contributing to the minimalist look of the space. A central volume in the open space creates different zones, allowing residents to flexibly respond to their needs. This element adds both functionality and aesthetic value, including additional storage space and a cosy niche for a reading corner. A see-through fireplace in the centre of the volume connects the different zones and creates a warm atmosphere. The dining area, adjacent to both the kitchen and the living space, provides an atmospheric setting for family dinners or with guests. To the side of the dining room, a storage cupboard is placed for crockery, along with an open alcove that subtly demarcates the dining area within the open floor plan. The spacious living area has an atmosphere of ultimate relaxation. A long TV wall with a symmetrical design offers both storage space and the possibility of making the TV visible or not. To the right of the TV wall, an aperitif corner with a wine fridge has been set up, adding to the cosy atmosphere.
The combination of a clean design with characterful materials gives the house a pure character
The master bathroom is designed so that the dressing room and bathroom blend seamlessly, creating one harmonious whole. This space, carefully separated from the master bedroom to respect the sleeping rhythm, is efficiently laid out with ample storage space and a central island that serves as a sink and storage element. This clever layout allows for optimal circulation in the space, providing a soothing experience even in the morning. The master bedroom itself offers occupants the ultimate moment of tranquillity. The bed wall is designed with the same lines and details found in the rest of the home, creating a harmonious whole. A storage unit was added under the TV with rounded shapes to match the bed wall. Even in the smallest room, the guest toilet, they strived to create a unique experience. By using dark materials for the floor, walls, ceiling and toilet, a subdued and luxurious atmosphere is created that beautifully showcases the lighting. In this project, the aim was to fully reflect the living environment of the residents in the design. The perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics contributes to their happiness, and this interplay between their wishes, the space and the design makes the whole project a success.

To design a residence that perfectly suits the lifestyle of the clients, an interior architect has to understand what the life of the residents looks like. By listening carefully to them, Justien Lescouhier manages to create projects that evoke a visual tranquillity. Materials with a soul play an important role in this.
