The Esplanada is a beautiful property from the late 20th century with a stunning panoramic view of the Port Phillip Bay in Melbourne. Interior design studio Golden took care of it and brought a feeling of luxurious tranquillity into the home.
Living by the bay
The exclusive house has no less than four bedrooms and five bathrooms. You enter a foyer covered with natural light and a beautiful spiral staircase that leads to the three floors. The colours and textures that were used are based on the idyllic location by the bay. Fine metal details contrast beautifully with the rich patina of organic surfaces such as natural stone and wood. In several rooms including the kitchen, bathroom and living spaces you will find robust grey marble. This exudes grandeur and luxury but is also durable.
Studio Golden designs beautiful Esplanada residence.
The house is very big, but Golden managed to keep some intimacy by emphasizing the transitions between the spaces and using tonal contrasts that define different zones with different atmospheres. For example, in one living space, the TV is hidden behind dark wooden slats to provide uninterrupted visibility. In another living space, you'll find light wood and a skylight to create an airy atmosphere and emphasize the view of the bay. Continuous tiled floors merge the outdoor terrace with the main interior spaces. The high ceilings are balanced by large-scale high-end pieces of furniture that provide a warm and family comfort. Golden chose a Living Divani sofa, a carpet from Halycon Lake and a four-metre-long dining table by Lowe. The entire Esplanada home exudes understated luxury!
