A holiday home where you live at the pace of the Mexican vida is a dream shared by many people. Walker Warner Architects managed to turn Baja California Sur, in eastern of the country, into an eclectic oasis. Lento y contento is the life motto there. We already got the chance to see this beautiful treasure.
Walker Warner, a full-service architectural firm, has been creating the most beautiful gems since 1989. With a heart for nature, the team of experts creates sustainable designs where listening to the surrounding landscape and climate takes precedence. The firm argues that eco-friendly solutions should become the trend, and calls on other studios to do the same. Moreover, a natural flow gives people what they crave: peace and rhythm.
At Baja beach house, too, the architects wanted the design on the Mexican coast to merge with nature. They therefore enlisted the help of the landscape experts at Lutsko Associates, so that the harmony between architecture and nature would be perfectly preserved. They themselves reflected the natural splendour of the local sand in the holiday home's concrete walls. And they did so with precision: the team had an undulating structure created in the stone, creating a play of light with the bright sun at different periods throughout the day. Besides an aesthetic function, the sand-coloured walls also have a functional purpose: they protect against seasonal storms and hurricanes.

Moreover, this project is very unique because of the installation that extends a stream of water from the entrance gate into the courtyard, which in turn eventually flows to the ocean. So you feel a direct connection with the sea through the soothing sound of the water throughout the property. In turn, the building's courtyard was based on traditional Mexican patios. Bold architectural forms alternate with bright, cheerful colours and pleasant motifs. In addition, the carefully chosen materials, selected by interior designer Ken Fulk, provide strength and pure beauty. ¡Vámonos!
