- Interior
For a dream villa, the location is often part of the magic. Framework Studio confirms this wisdom with Can Brut, a crown project in the Mediterranean climate of Ibiza. With a view of the mountains and the sea, the result has a great appeal to everyone who has a weakness for the local traditions and goes silent when witnessing creativity that transcends beauty.
Perfection can be missed according to Thomas Geerlings, founder of Framework Studio. When a design leaves no room for imagination, it limits itself. His autodidactic background most likely has something to do with that creative vision, because unexpected turns and choices out of passion are also responsible for where he is today. Even though he was initially active in the financial and technological component of real estate, he decided to explore interior design as well. Since then, there is no way back. Together with his team, he has already worked on several interior projects, in which they always cherish a curiosity for the unexpected. Meaning and joy go hand in hand for the studio, and the same goes for a continuous need to learn and a focus that holds on to quality. Next to their main office in Amsterdam, they have a location in Paris. Nevertheless, their operating field is not confined to these two cities, since the team also goes far beyond that to transform their unique mix of principles, ideas, and influences in attractive projects. Can Brut in Ibiza is a perfect example of this.
An iterative immersion in a stunning southern location
With 480 square metres to fill, it is fair to say that this commission stretched out over a considerable living surface. Logically, it concerns a villa home that lacks anything but space. From the beginning, the studio knew that it was of great value to refer to the traditional construction techniques of the island; therefore, they for example chose curved ceilings. In accordance with the warm climate, these create an airy feeling, which is also enhanced by the skylights that are neatly incorporated. The surrounding landscape cannot be missed as one of the most convincing traits of the home. Next to this, thanks to several height differences, the local nature positions itself clearly on the foreground. At the same time, in an open floor plan like this, these differences offer more possibilities concerning privacy. Synchronous with the overall luxury in which the entire building lullingly lounges, the residents have a refreshing pool at their disposal. Nearby you find the dining area, which means that there is no harsh distinction between indoor and outdoor. You experience the same interaction in the bedrooms, seeing that they look out on the garden, complete with romantic flowers that are the final addition to the iterative immersion in this stunning southern location. Can Brut is a villa that leaves room for your fantasy. With the pure Mediterranean nature encircling you, you call yourself lucky every day. The thoughtful architectural choices led to an ideal living place where you can both imagine yourself alone in the world and in the constant company of like-minded souls surrounding you. Happiness is an infinite quest, but in this place you touch it momentarily. Photography by Cafeine
