In a workshop in Genk, far removed from passing trends, stone is shaped with a dedication that is increasingly rare. Since 1994, Il Granito has been a constant presence in the Belgian craftsmanship landscape. The studio of Barbara and Vito Rizzi is now celebrated internationally for its natural stone creations, all the while remaining true to the essence of traditional craftsmanship.
When their son Angelo Rizzi joined in 2006, he broadened Il Granito’s artistic and geographical horizons. Yet he remained unwavering in his commitment to the founding principles of authenticity, technical mastery, and absolute control over the production process. In a world where outsourcing has become almost standard, Il Granito purposefully processes every block, slab, and detail in-house. Everything is made on site. 
Every cut, every finish, every surface tells a story about the material and the people shaping it. This is not industrial production, but a tangible dialogue between human and material. The pieces and interiors stand out for their subdued luxury. In collaboration with designers such as Michaël Verheyden, the studio creates sculptural furniture and architectural installations that function as effectively as they captivate. Think of washbasins, baths, and countertops that resemble art installations as much as they do functional objects. Each design is carefully considered technically and visually potent without ever feeling excessive. Il Granito’s bathroom collection highlights their pursuit not only of formal refinement but also of functional integration. Here, natural stone is not merely a veneer but serves as a structural, defining material. Every washbasin or freestanding bath embodies a tension between craft and innovation, between raw origins and thoughtful execution.

That these pieces now grace interiors from Paris to Dubai is no coincidence. They speak a universally understood language; one of care, tactility, and durability. The studio works with a limited selection of natural stones that are not only visually powerful but also resilient to wear and time. No material without history, no design without future.
Il Granito proves that purity and refinement need not be opposites. Even in an ever-accelerating industry, this family business chooses a path of patience and care. Here, no stone is moved without purpose, no line drawn without attention.
