Sjöparken, a sanctuary of understated opulence embraced by nature, invites you to an extraordinary retreat. Nestled in the serene beech forests of Halland, Sweden, Sjöparken redefines the essence of tranquillity and luxury. This architectural gem is a retreat that seamlessly blends the spirit of Scandinavian simplicity, the timeless elegance of Japanese design and the tropical allure of resort living.
Sjöparken is the result of a collaboration between Norm Architects and a team of talented partners. Together, Architect & Partner Peter Eland, Designer & Partner Frederik Werner, Architect & co-founding Partner Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen and Interior Designer Hedda Klar have brought this vision to life. Their combined efforts have resulted in a place that creates an ideal environment for intimate rituals of self-care and harmonious lifestyles amid the embrace of nature. The seven villas, delicately perched on the lake, connect four hotel rooms through glass corridors, creating an experience reminiscent of walking through an open-air village. The design blurs the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, enhancing the intimate connection with the surroundings and paying homage to the site's history. Whether taking a refreshing dip in the private lake pools, unwinding in the in-room saunas or indulging in the tranquillity of lying in bed, every moment at Sjöparken reveals an unparalleled connection to nature.
Sjöparken promotes a direct and immersive connection with the natural environment
The integrated architectural elements and bespoke design optimise space, while the minimal, quiet rooms create a framework for immersive experiences focused on silence, togetherness and well-being. In collaboration with Michelin-starred restaurant ÄNG, Sjöparken seamlessly extends Ästad Vingård's offering. Sjöparken stands as a benchmark for the convergence of aesthetic values and harmonious expression, where different elements of the estate connect and come together in unity. Sjöparken promotes a direct and compelling connection to the natural environment, an ethos that permeates every facet of the design. The seamless interplay between indoor and outdoor spaces goes beyond aesthetics and shapes the way space is used. The way sunlight filters through the rooms, the choice of materials that reflect the natural elements, and the fluid movement within the hotel are all intentional gestures that create an experience that resonates with the soul of Ästad Vingård. Sjöparken's architecture is a masterful dance of subtlety that blends seamlessly with local building traditions. Wooden cladding and green roofs honour the region's architectural heritage, while the villas invite an escape into nature's embrace. Adorned by a private pool discreetly hidden beneath the surface of the lake, each villa forms a floating village that fosters a direct connection with the water and the natural environment. The sound of water, the reflection of light and the scents of the lake create a luxurious and comfortable experience, complemented by visual and tactile moments that appeal to guests' senses and well-being. From raw natural materials to elegant ways of filtering light, every experience at Sjöparken is unique and varied. The intimate sauna, shrouded in wood with a furnace seamlessly integrated into the floor, offers a cocoon of waterfront comfort. This enclave of luxury hotel rooms forms a harmonious coexistence between luxurious living and the pristine beauty of the Swedish landscape. At Sjöparken, every corner is a story of simplicity, unity and the spirit of the place, resulting in an extraordinary retreat where thoughtful design and nature come together in perfect harmony.
