This autumn Imagicasa celebrates a special milestone, because our magazine blows out ten candles. The past decade we have grown from a simple website to an internationally distributed, tangible brand with an elaborate philosophy and our own home collection. Of course, there is no better time than now to look back on the past years and reflect on the way that we have travelled thus far, with our loyal readers by our side.
A laptop on the table and an idea, that was all that was necessary back in 2014 to start the first chapter of Imagicasa. Editor in chief Phaedra Hoste had been fostering a profound interest in design and interior for years. Already her whole life, she noticed that high-end furniture, harmonious interiors, and sensational objects touched her like few other things could. She finally made the decision to translate this passion into something concrete and started a platform. More specifically, she launched a website where she shared inspiring projects and where people could rely on to encounter the best from the luxury home segment. Exclusivity has been a priority since the beginning. That, as well as an urge to dare to dream.
Many times, we told you yesterday about the icons of tomorrow
The name Imagicasa is a perfect fusion of this. Homes that make you marvel and exceed your expectations are exactly the type that you can find here. It was no coincidence that she chose a mandala for the logo. With this, she referred to the spiritual qualities of our home environment and how they can play a part in our wellbeing. After some time, the ideas and hunches were bursting out of their digital seams, seeing that the website was asking to be accompanied by a tangible component. Initially, we started in 2015 with two printed editions a year. Paper as a medium has given us even more freedom to develop our house style. Mesmerising layouts and insightful texts started to merge into articles with a journalistic impact that could not be ignored. Serenity, harmony, and a lasting appeal are basic assets to us. Over the years, we have given readers an ever more complete idea of the sort of projects that Imagicasa represents. Yet our house style continues to evolve, and we are connected to the different trends that the interior industry experiences. Nothing is free of change; look, for example, at all the covers we have chosen throughout the seasons. Furthermore, we have written about strikingly diverse projects. Indeed, we can always appreciate beige, but also colourful designs and accents are more than welcome. Whether it concerns monochrome minimalism or rather bold excesses, each time we build a selection with a convincing balance. Returning readers also know that we love expressive materials and techniques that make a difference. The last ten years, we have been sitting front row and watched how talented designers, artists and makers have continued to innovate and experiment. It is our pleasure to share these insights directly with you, both online and in print. Many times, we told you yesterday about the icons of tomorrow. With a tireless enthusiasm, we search for creations that remain surprising and names that showcase something different each time. Naturally, our own aesthetic has gone through a noticeable growth as well. Those who have collected all of our past issues can see with their own eyes how every season we have become better at articulating the essence of our own aesthetic identity.
