- Art & Design
In the heart of Bruges, where the winding canals and medieval architecture create an enchanting allure, stands a studio that marks the culmination of a year of artistic discovery and groundbreaking creativity. Objects With Narratives, the contemporary gallery for collectibles, has found a home in this enchanting city, a place where stories are born from the masterpieces of artisans who cross the boundaries of design and art.
The journey of Objects With Narratives began with the Vandewyngaerde brothers, engineers and architects with a passion for design who soon met like-minded artists who sought the same depth in their creations. Together with their lifelong friend, Oskar Eryatmaz, an expert in finance and commerce, they formed Object with Narratives, a gallery that not only shows objects, but embraces stories. They understood the challenges faced by young artists and created a platform where creativity could come together, free from the constraints of budget, logistics and legislation. The gallery, with its carefully curated selection of artists from different parts of the world, acts as a curator of stories and craft. These artists, such as Lukas Cober, Ian Ernst, Armand & Francine, and Hervé Langlais, are presented not only as creators of objects, but as tellers of unique and intriguing stories.
The masters in the gallery are visionaries who engage in a profound dialogue between form, function and material
Each artwork that crosses the gallery's threshold carries a deep-rooted connection to the artist, the materials and the story it brings to life. It not only provides a platform for exhibitions and sales, but goes further with services such as interior projects, art consultancy and custom design. The gallery believes in creating total works of art, where objects blend seamlessly with architectural spaces, and where each piece is tailored to the client's vision and taste. However, their role as curator goes beyond presenting artworks. It is a facilitator that supports artists, connecting them to opportunities and helping them realise their visions. It is a place where dialogue between art and the public is sparked, and where the curator plays a key role in discovering objects that fit the style and needs of buyers. The latest addition to Bruges' heritage is the gallery's new office, a space that marks the beginning of a new chapter. It will not only showcase the highlights of exhibitions from 2023, but also brand new creations made especially for the occasion. Located in the heart of the city, the studio embodies Objects With Narratives' mission: to celebrate the power of stories and transform objects into works of art that stand the test of time. As 2024 approaches, they remain driven by the passion for telling stories through art. With a global audience of private collectors, interior designers, institutions and publishers, they continue to push the boundaries of what contemporary design has to offer. It is not just a gallery; it is a journey through the depths of creativity, a celebration of craftsmanship and an ode to the power of storytelling that transforms the world of objects.
