Salone del Mobile 2024 may have ended quite some time ago, but we still have plenty of food for thought. Our favourite brands stalled out their best creations and proved once again why they are established names in the industry, including arflex. We are happy to summarise their participation for you.
Those who visited arflex were immersed in a seemingly endless succession of spaces, not dissimilar to a labyrinth. Through a few tactically positioned openings, visitors moved through it all. Once again, echoes of the 1970s were audible. Furthermore, the brand deployed its selection around the idea of combining materials layer by layer and making comfort concrete through tactility. For more than seventy years, they have been a respected player within the sofa, armrest and accessories segment. Over time, they have built up an impressive portfolio, in which the Boborelax series in particular caught our attention, because of the uncomplicated purity that emanates from it. The piece was designed by Cini Boeri. As a second honour piece, we name Yuzu, an armchair that may be small in size, but big in spunk. Claesson Kovisto was responsible for the design and was perhaps moderately inspired by the animal world. Across the board, arflex produces memorable pieces of furniture, each living up to their core principles of user comfort and refinement. In their palettes, they always seek organic proportions between colour, material and texture. Beyond mere utilitarian objects, they market icons that quench a shared thirst for meaningful design. Respect for materials and attention to detail are indispensable core values for the brand. Although their approach brims with an affinity for modern techniques, their collections also preserve a timelessness that makes them always retain their relevance. Add to this the long history they are already allowed to look back on, and you can understand why their status is both rooted in the past and looking forward to the future. In every project realisation where one of their pieces appears, they help make a difference. Without disrupting or pushing the rest of an interior into the background, their designs proudly take the place they deserve. We are confident that they will be at it again next year, and that in the meantime, new collections will emerge in their studios.
