When Natalie De Banco, founder of the globally renowned fashion brand Bronx and Banco, celebrated for dressing icons like Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, and Miley Cyrus, sought to rebrand her residence, she chose Helena Clunies-Ross Design to bring her vision to life. Because of her hectic lifestyle, De Banco wanted to channel tranquility and calmness into her home and, with the help of Helena Clunies-Ross Design, it was transformed into a restorative sanctuary.
The international design studio Helena Clunies-Ross Design was founded in 2018 by the British Helena Clunies-Ross and has its roots in both New York and Londen. The studio specializes in high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial design. Clunies-Ross’ background in fine art and art history certainly help her create detailed and sleek restorations that align perfectly with customer’s demands. She is a master at designing spaces that perfectly balance drama and serenity.
Helena Clunies-Ross’ design of Timber Lane, located in East Hampton, embodies wellness, harmony, and quiet sophistication. She achieved this by going back to natural materials such as stone, timber, and linen. She cleverly combines both light as well as dark colors. This is reflected in the black walls and detailing, which are starkly contrasted by the light wooden floors, accents, and the cream couch. The use of such colors allows for a space that feels relaxing and peaceful. What makes this residence stand out is its built-in sauna, meditation nooks, swimming pool, and handcrafted Buddha sculptures that complement both the interior and the exterior. All these elements transform this residence into a peaceful oasis perfectly suitable for De Banco to unwind completely.

Perhaps most striking is that every detail in this residence, from the slatted timber screens to the bar in the basement, was custom-made. Helena Clunies-Ross Design did not only accentuate the residence’s beauty, but also considered its environmental responsibility by only incorporating natural materials and installing solar panels on the roof. Clunies-Ross got inspired by the green forest surrounding the premises. Through architectural changes, she opened the structure to the outdoors and included this greenery throughout the entire home by placing plants and flowers in every room. On top of that, a cherry tree, framed by soaring glass, is now the star of the residence.
Clunies-Ross Design transformed De Banco’s home into a remarkable oasis that radiates tranquility and serenity. The contrasting light and dark colors as well as the rooms dedicated to wellness reinforce this relaxing atmosphere. The open window design allows De Banco to enjoy the green scenery from every corner and feel at ease within the comfort of her home.
