A link between the traditional impression and a more contemporary sensibility
L-Architects realised the extension of a 1990s holiday home in Pessada, Kefalonia island, and the complete redesign of the interior and exterior spaces. By combining existing and new elements, the renovation gives the house an integrated new identity. Built on the edge of an olive grove, the two-storey house offers unobstructed views of the picturesque local harbour and the sea. The building, which fits effortlessly into the traditional character of island architecture, initially consisted of two bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room, while the outdoor space was left in its natural state. The new design made no significant changes to the appearance of the house, but bridged the gap between the traditional impression and a more contemporary sensibility.The interior design combines a carefully curated selection of the owners' furniture and lamps with new pieces, resulting in an updated but timeless identity that integrates the previous identity without overshadowing it. On the other hand, the layout of the outdoor spaces was completely redesigned.The main goal was to strategically integrate a swimming pool that would enjoy spectacular views, while surrounded by spaces that encourage everyday living close to nature. That is where we think they succeeded with flying colours. 
Needless to say, this 200-square-metre accommodation offers a complete package when it comes to luxury travel and enriches your well-being by maintaining a high level of privacy and high-end facilities.
