- Interior
It's not the first time we've shared a project from the American designer Jamie Bush. Imagicasa is a big fan of his organic, modernist style which is also present in this paradisiacal home in Malibu. Together we can dream away at this coastal oasis.
Los Angeles-based designer Jamie Bush has a great passion for mid-century modern residential architecture, which he has studied extensively in LA. He has worked on several well-known historic modernist homes in the US and his style is characterised by a strong focus on organic modernism and nature.
It turned into a warm, organic modernist beach house.
Also in this Malibu Retreat, we recognise modernist elements and many references to nature and more specifically to the coast since the house is located at the beach. The four-bedroom house has been completely renovated and transformed into a serene and cosy coastal oasis. It became a warm, organic, modernist beach house with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. Bush used an airy and natural palette that reflects the coastal environment. For example, we find sober beach-like colours such as grey, brown, white and beige with natural materials such as wood, stone and marble. In the kitchen we find a hint of blue and green in the kitchen island plus the splash wall which references the colour of the ocean. The beautiful views of the water are almost integrated into the interior as an extra layer of colour. The mid-century vibe is clearly present here in the combination of retro furniture and textures. This is in perfect balance with some minimalist and modern details.
