- Interior
Botaniczna Apartment is one of those designs where it is hard to tell whether it was made this year or twenty years ago. That was exactly what Agnieszka Owsiany had in mind while developing this project. She wanted to create an interior that radiates tranquillity and is timeless in its design.
Agnieszka Owsiany is a Polish interior architect with a studio of the same name: Agnieszka Owsiany Studio. She designed the interior of Botaniczna Apartment, a 90 square metre newly built apartment in Poznań, for a couple. Both clients work in the medical sector and therefore attach great importance to calmness in their home. They wanted an interior where all the stress of everyday life disappears the moment you walk in. In short, it is a place to unwind.
The furniture has sharp lines and smooth surfaces.
The name Botaniczna Apartment was chosen because of the location, the flat has a view of a botanical garden. To bring the tranquillity of nature inside, the interior designer uses natural materials such as wood and travertine. These are used all throughout the apartment: from the herringbone floor, the wooden wall cabinets, a coffee table in wood and a burl wood dressing table to a kitchen island and a bathroom fully lined with travertine. The natural materials have a soothing effect on the eyes thanks to their soft colours: different shades of brown and a creamy off-white. The customers wanted a soothing interior with the quality and clean finish of a neat hotel. As a result, the furniture has sharp lines and smooth surfaces. This gives the whole a sleek finish that is easy to use and maintain. Photography by Pion Studio
