Designing an exclusive residence in a unique setting is probably the dream of many interior designers. Aurora Saboir got this chance with Glam Villa, a residence on the Balearic Sea that complements a spectacular view with a modest interior and some striking furniture pieces.
The design concept for Glam Villa is a creation from Aurora Saboir, who today also develops exclusive designs for private jets. The residence we show here is a complex residence for which Saboir took care of the exterior and interior. The designer wanted something else than the many straightforward, minimalist designs we often see today. This house was inspired by water and the shape of an open seashell. From this resulted a home with mainly round shapes and a strong connection with its surroundings. The architecture itself, according to Saboir, is an expression of openness and connection. Of course, this has everything to do with the enormous windows and the elliptic, concrete ring structure. The indoor and outdoor living spaces are an extension of each other. The interior had to reflect the glamourous, refined, and adventurous lifestyle of the clients, real globetrotters. A vibrant, colourful palette of different textures, materials, and surfaces was therefore selected. Probably the most striking element of the design is its location. Overlooking the Balearic Sea, the real luxury is actually all around the residence, which immediately explains the large glass structures.
The architecture itself is an expression of openness and connection
To emphasise the surroundings as much as possible, the base of the interior is rather modest. Wood, stone, and light materials dominate and put the focus on the outside. This was complemented with a number of unique artworks and custom furniture. For a real luxurious effect, a striking aspect here and there could not be missing. Think, for example, of the zebra print carpet, the sofas in a tangerine colour, and the lighting in brass. This Glam Villa lives up to its name. The view, which is of course particularly impressive, gets the attention it deserves. However, the interior was not forgotten either. With some eye-catching colours and prints, enough personality was added to ensure it never gets boring. Visualisations courtesy of Aurora Saboir
