The Casa Cook hotel chain is expanding. In 2022, Casa Cook Samos in Potokaki, Greece will be completed. With this new member, this family of five-star hotels will have one more top location. Therefore, it is high time for Imagicasa to gain inspiration for future trips by taking a look at this exciting project.
The Casa Cook hotels are all passion projects. They form a unified whole without being identical to one another. So far, the chain has opened hotels in Egypt and Rhodes, and a branch in Greece will join the list from 2022 onwards. Central to Casa Cook's concept is without exception the surrounding landscape and local culture. They always try to adopt a style that is both cosmopolitan and down-to-earth. When you stay at one of their locations, you can enjoy a pleasant balance between communal areas and private rooms. Upon arrival, you are immediately immersed in their characterful and comfortable interiors that have an inherent softness about them. Important in their hotels is the focus on the well-being of body and mind. For Block722 it was of course a great opportunity to continue this tradition in the design of Casa Cook Samos in Greece. The architectural firm operates from Athens and was founded in 2009 by Sotiris Tsergas and Katja Margaritoglou. Together, they combine Greek and Scandinavian heritage, which produces beautiful results. They are loyal to an artisanal approach to their projects and enjoy working with local craftsmen and artists. One of their goals is to give a contemporary interpretation of the Mediterranean spirit and traditions, always keeping in mind the contextual requirements and principles of the client. Block722's efforts have recently been deservedly rewarded with an honourable mention in the A+Firm Awards.
The architecture shows influences of traditional Greek houses.
Casa Cook Samos is being built on the Greek island of the same name and will open its doors in May 2022. The hotel will offer no fewer than 128 rooms and, like the other hotels in the chain, will only be open to people aged 16 and over. For those who will be staying here, the landscape is dominated by forests and there is a view of the boundless beaches of the north-east Aegean Sea. True to the shared DNA of Casa Cook, the Samos branch will offer the same laid-back luxury to its guests. The architecture shows influences of traditional Greek houses, called Kamares. Not only the building style but the entire concept of the hotel was conceived in line with the Greek environment. For example, the structure is based on the model of a Greek village: the outdoor swimming pool serves as the focal point of the 'community' where guests can meet each other. Of course, the pool is not the only common element in this unique travel experience. The Beach House restaurant serves the finest Mediterranean cuisine and refreshing cocktails. Moreover, there is a fitness, outdoor yoga and wellness centre to relax in. The decision was made to incorporate a large amount of greenery, in order to honour the fertile vegetation of palms, pines, agaves and wild olive trees. In addition, the numerous Greek waterfalls and rivers are reflected in the hotel's abundant water sources – there are no less than six swimming pools. In terms of materials, the natural element has been taken further: earthy textures and colours are everywhere. Local leather, wood and stone merge into contemporary elements such as smooth terrazzo. In this way, Block 722 creates spaces of modern luxury that remain grounded in the local identity. The rooms are true havens. They have a modern outlook in which an authentic Greek feeling is woven. Handcrafted elements contribute to the luxurious atmosphere, while the rough and natural tones closely match the palette of the common areas. Moreover, there is a room for everyone's preference, whether it is for space, privacy or proximity to the lively scene.
With Casa Cook Samos, the hotel chain gains a unique addition. In this paradise, you can enjoy the best of Greek island authenticity and modern luxury with natural and bohemian undertones. We are already starting to think about holidays.
