Retrieving the energy of urban living in a tropical environment, would that be possible? If you put that question to architect Victor B. Ortiz, it quickly becomes clear that he has no doubts about that. Cacao Residence is a perfect marriage between European design and a Brazilian environment. The elegant language of form is expressed here in a pure location that makes even the most sober souls dream.
For this project, Victor B. Ortiz worked together with Renata Leinemann to design a residence that gives the impression of having risen from the ground. By playing on the most beautiful shades of the omnipresent sun and honouring the incredible sea views, the result is a residence that parallels the local splendour in every way. The design includes two floors; downstairs are the living areas and upstairs are the private quarters. The living and dining areas flow naturally into the outdoors, thanks to great sliding doors. On the ground floor there is also a guest room; this was done with the intention of providing more privacy. Remarkably, the upper floor has a private entrance, bathed in natural light through a wooden pergola. In addition to a master bedroom, there are two more suites, as well as an office space.

It is hard to miss that the design is extremely transparent, as numerous openings and windows were placed. In terms of materials, the team definitely went in a warm direction, which further strengthened the connection with nature. For example, lime paint in off-white for the walls and ceilings, and light-grey microcement for both the interior and exterior floors. For the furniture, they mixed European and Brazilian pieces, resulting in an interesting but balanced selection. Simple, rustic and monolithic are some of the adjectives that immediately come to mind. It is also striking that the house is surrounded by cocoa trees; with this knowledge, you can easily trace that influence back to the beautiful result. From the floating pool you can almost touch the trees and take in the distant views. No matter how many times you view the impressive images, which were also created by Kern Studio, each time you find something new to marvel at. 
Cacao Residence is an interwoven whole that contains a special finesse. The beautiful Brazilian beach is joined here by a high quality residence that can make many living dreams come true. The balanced aesthetic that gently takes you by the hand here will stay with us for a long time and inspire you extensively.
