With summer in sight, we like to regularly highlight travel destinations of our partner Welcome Beyond, an online platform that tries to bring together the most beautiful boutique hotels, villas, luxury holiday homes and B&Bs. This villa in Puglia, Italy, is one of those gems that guarantees a perfect holiday. This unique holiday home was designed in function of its natural surroundings.
Holiday home White Cube is located in Salento, the southernmost region of Puglia and a peninsula completely surrounded by water that still feels like an island. Both coastlines can be reached within fifteen to twenty minutes by car. In the east, you will find many rocky coves and crystal clear water, both ideal for swimming and diving. It must be obvious why it is named one of the most beautiful coasts of Italy.
Right in the historical centre of Gagliano del Capo, a medieval village in this beautiful unspoilt part of Puglia, you will find this unique and intimate house with its own private garden. It was a challenge for the architect to get the design just right since the plot is not huge. It was clear from the start, however, that the owners wanted many bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate several families in this holiday home. The result is an organic consequence of that wish and now the property consists of two blocks that together can accommodate fourteen people.
Sober design with lots of natural light that radiates peace and tranquillity.
In the main building, you will find an open kitchen and living room separated by two huge sliding doors that disappear into the walls. Additionally, you will find the main bedroom and two smaller bedrooms in the other block. It feels like there is no border between inside and outside, which gives the space a sense of freedom. The high tower is the real eye-catcher of the villa and houses two bedrooms with a roof terrace above. Above the living room, there is another roof terrace that is lower but still high enough to enjoy the surroundings. Thanks to the number of bedrooms, White Cube has the potential to accommodate several families, each with sufficient privacy. Furthermore, the different bright spaces give you access to the courtyard that provides you with enough facilities to entertain the whole family throughout the holidays. Think of a swimming pool, football table, barbecue, sufficient garden furniture, etc. There is even an additional garden with orangery behind the tower. This timeless architecture fits perfectly into its surroundings without being too subdued. The White Cube project in two words? Characterful and serene.

In 2009, two of Berlin's brothers, Oliver and Chris Laugsch, decided to start a company that combines all their passions: travel, architecture and design. This was the beginning of Welcome Beyond, an online platform that selects residences from all over the world based on architecture and hospitality. As a result, the website offers a wide range of unique accommodations such as beach houses, bed&breakfasts, hotels, chalets, holiday homes, villas and even private islands, yurts and igloos.
