The Swedish company Nordiska Kök that produces high-end custom kitchens is no stranger to Imagicasa. Their designs never cease to amaze. Once again, they blew us away with their project The Nordic Retro.
The custom-made kitchens of the Swedish award-winning brand Nordiska Kök are all produced from scratch and are an international success. For this project, they had the honour of designing a kitchen for an iconic 1950s townhouse. It is located in the Limhamn district of Sweden, which is known for its houses with a modernist and bold design language. Nordiska Kök chose to design a contemporary and sustainable kitchen, with a clear Scandinavian aesthetic. At the same time, it was important to them to honour the history of the house, so they clearly drew inspiration from the architecture and design of the 1950s and 1960s.
Nostalgic elements keep the interesting history of the house alive.
In terms of material, they used the granite Lemon Ice, which has a beautiful and soothing pattern. It is also a durable material, so it will last for generations. In addition, the company also chose beautiful oak wood in a chocolate brown stain, which gives the entire kitchen a warm appearance. A calm impression is also created by the fact that the fan is painted in the same colour as the wall. By reconciling details like sockets and the cooker, you get an even greater sense that the kitchen forms a beautiful, harmonious whole. Nordiska Kök has also added nostalgic elements to the modern kitchen, in order to honour the interesting history of the house. For example, the frames around the drawers refer to the house's iconic old windows. In short, one of the townhouses in Limhamn now has a timeless, aesthetic kitchen, all thanks to Nordiska Kök. We are very big fans of this project and can't wait to see what else the company will accomplish in the future.
