Our readers are already familiar with the extraordinary high-end products from Belgian brand Evolution21. Their quality fabrics and eye for detail always lead to luxurious designs that have many enthusiasts worldwide. Today, we want to present to you their newest collaboration with bed manufacturer Tréca Paris.
Evolution21, based in Mechelen, Belgium, is run by Karine Bonjean and has since become a real family business, since both her sons work for the brand as well. From a young age, Karine has been fascinated by beautiful fabrics, and while working as an interior designer, she soon realised that she lacked thoughtful furniture pieces in high-quality fabrics. She then founded her own business, which has since become an internationally renowned brand combining her creativity and knowledge of craftsmanship to create splendid designs for both the hospitality sector and residential projects.
Recently, the brand was asked to design a bed for French bed manufacturer Tréca Paris, a question that did not require much thought. Karine Bonjean is thus the first Belgian designer for the French brand. Both brands share a number of important characteristics, such as a focus on innovation and quality, so the collaboration went smoothly. The result is the decorative Coup de Foudre bed, which has a striking motif and a character all its own. Art is often a source of inspiration for the designer, and for this bed in particular she was inspired by "Ma Jolie", a work by Picasso. Luxury fabrics from fashion labels like Chanel and nature also provide inspiration each time.

Furthermore, the design is based on the most recent evolutions in the interior design world. According to Karine, ever since the pandemic we have been making more bold choices for our interior, such as opting for more colour, atmosphere, and cosiness. The bed’s geometrical patterns, which were new for Tréca as well, for instance remind of the sixties and seventies. Because the team behind Tréca Paris was very attracted by Evolution21’s Coup de Foudre collection, around nine colour combinations were selected to be used for the bed.
In every new project, Evolution21 tries to improve itself. Again, an eye for tradition and knowledge of the newest technologies lead to a successful outcome that will appeal to many.
