A good interior stands or falls with a clear vision and a design that fits our contemporary living standards. A drive for innovation helps to create a residence that is not just good, but really impresses. That is exactly what this apartment, designed by Limdim House, does, and we are therefore happy to show you more.
The Vietnamese studio Limdim House was founded in 2017 by Mai Tran and already has a number of architectural and landscape projects on their record. Since their creation, they have realised projects in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Singapore. In their interiors, their aim is to create a space of rest, openness and relaxation. According to the studio, everyone deserves to have a dream space where they can fully be themselves, and that is clearly demonstrated here. For the renovation of this sixty-square-metre apartment, it was particularly important to change the lay-out. Originally, the residence contained two bedrooms and a very traditional kitchen and living room. The client wanted a style that feels more contemporary and suited their needs. Limdim House came up with an interesting design that does not feel too common, where a fresh breeze revives the space. The owners for example only needed one bedroom instead of two. For this reason, the existing walls were removed, and the function of the space was changed. The kitchen with island and the living room were designed in such a way that they smoothly blend into each other. By connecting the spaces with each other, the apartment now feels much more spacious. In this new lay-out, the kitchen island also obtained a very flexible function.

For the dressing room, a system with a folding door was used, which again ensures an extension of the space, but also results in sufficient natural light. The bathroom, too, was extended, so that there was enough space for a large bathtub. A round glass plate brings about extraordinary visual effects. When looking at the materials, we notice that terrazzo stone played an important role. On the white background, this stone with colourful parts beautifully comes into its own. Curves running down from the ceiling transform the apartment into a unique place where boredom has no chance. Renovations often involve a lot of challenges, both in terms of structure as well as a number of technical issues. As a result, many renovated projects follow a rather traditional path. In this apartment, however, Limdim House chose for innovation and challenged itself to approach this interior in an unusual way. We think they certainly succeeded in that!
