Dinesen Collection, the furniture collection that Danish wood company Dinesen launched last year, is completely in harmony with nature and has great aesthetic sustainability. The collection consists of eight products, beautifully presented thanks to images by Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen of Norm Architects.
The Danish brand Dinesen creates solid wood planks for floors, wall panels, ceilings and other interior elements. Their work is characterised by a great respect for nature and sublime craftsmanship. The family business has been in existence for more than a hundred years and, time and again, provides customised solutions that go beyond tradition. This has already won them several major customers, such as the Saatchi Gallery in London and the famous restaurant Noma in Copenhagen. 
The classic designs will last for generations.
Meanwhile, the company has also introduced the Dinesen Collection, a collection of furniture and interior objects that are in harmony with nature and have aesthetic sustainability. The collection consists of eight products: five individual pieces of furniture, the interior fragrance DD-2 and Dinesen Bricks. The latter are made from surplus wood from Dinesen's own production and can be used as decorative objects or as cutting or serving boards. 
The collection takes inspiration from the drying process that wood undergoes on its way to becoming the iconic Dinesen boards. Once the wood is sawn, the boards are stacked with cubic spacers between them to allow air to circulate freely. The stacked planks are a recurring element in the collection, which so clearly refers to Dinesen's DNA. The furniture collection was designed by Design Studies, which is dedicated to exploring new possibilities for wood. The interior fragrance was developed by the artist and olfactory researcher Sissel Tolaas and the architecture and design firm Studio Pneuma.
‘The goal is always to enrich life for the people who shape their lives around the furniture,’ explains Hans Peter Dinesen of Design Studies. ‘This collection is a manifestation of how design can provide an environment for life, bringing people together and also bringing us closer to nature and improving our well-being.’ 
Dinesen Collection is a beautiful collection of classic designs that will last for generations and only become more beautiful as time leaves its mark on the wood and other materials.
