- Interior
Estate Villa is a minimalistic home designed by studio Namo. The brief was to create one collective whole in the villa. Namo went a step further and created a coherent, balanced interior.
Namo is a design studio founded by Natasja Molenaar in 2020. The young studio came into being after five years of collaboration with Nanette van der Vooren under the name J.PINE. The Dutch interior designers met each other at Studio Piet Boon. Namo is the expression of Natasja's individual style, which is characterised by detailed minimalism and a carefully refined balance. The interiors she designs search for a balance between luxury and modesty.
The minimalism has an enchanting simplicity.
Estate Villa is a good example of this style: the spaces are so simple that it almost seems as if nothing has happened to them. This kind of extreme minimalism has a luxurious look because it is exclusive. Natasja Molenaar opts for a black and white colour palette with some beige accents here and there. The clean, smooth surfaces are balanced by a rough brick wall and the solid wooden ceiling structure. A striking element is the dining table, or rather the lack thereof. Opposite the cooking island is a low, simple sofa. The minimalism has an enchanting simplicity. It is a fascinating design style because the world is not naturally made that way. In that sense we can call it artificial and it is through homes like Estate Villa that we can dream of a utopian, perfect environment.
