- Interior
Literal warmth is like a panacea for an interior, but we don't have to tell De Puydt that anymore. For more than fifty years, the company has been known for fireplaces that go just that little bit further than the rest. Add to that your own furniture workshop and you can be confident that they can also manage a total furnishing in the right direction. We delve into their story and become acquainted with a recent project in Antwerp, where they were responsible for the fireplace wall and a significant part of the interior.
Expertise can accumulate infinitely, as is the case for this family business, operating out of Knokke. Their fascination for fire and the ways it can enrich architecture has brought them many successes. More than fifty years ago, Julien De Puydt started developing fireplaces that are nothing short of masterful and are completely tailored to your interior. Over time, the craftsmanship was passed on to the second generation, and so tradition took more and more shape. With their expertise, they unite high-quality fireplace solutions and architecture, resulting in inviting homes that residents cherish with all their hearts for years to come. Their designs capture the warm glow of the flames, but at the same time possess a controlled serenity that makes different styles prevalent in their portfolio. Attention to detail, customisation, charisma and craftsmanship are all values they make concrete every day. Throughout successive decades, they have always managed to make their vision go hand in hand with the context, and that always pays off. They also give the central role of innovation and sustainable applications the attention it deserves, allowing their projects to grow in parallel with the evolving priorities in the world of interiors and architecture. For them, sublimity is where technical eloquence and mastery reinforce each other. The project we highlight here came from people for whom De Puydt had already realised their fireplace wall in their flat on the Belgian coast in the past. This time, they were asked to provide a fireplace in their flat in the centre of Antwerp. It is always nice to work for people who already know what quality they can expect.Initially, the intention was just to provide a fireplace wall, but it soon became clear that a larger approach was desirable. To get all the materials, lines and details right, their in-house interior designer was appointed to tackle the night rooms, kitchen and office.By drawing up a clear plan on a larger scale, they were able to draw the fireplace story here more broadly and give it the best possible integration into the home. In total, it took six weeks to fully furnish the flat, from fireplace and kitchen to the bedrooms and bathrooms. The biggest challenge was mainly logistical, because given the location in the centre of Antwerp, it was not obvious to get everything on site within this short time.
For them, sublimity is where technical eloquence and mastery reinforce each other.
Good preparation is everything. As usual, their project managers provided punctual planning to get everything done on time.In addition, the team worked together in an outstandingly smooth manner, resulting in the convincing satisfaction of the clients. As for the materials and colours used, you will quickly notice that the atmosphere had to be warm - literally and figuratively.Oak veneer was combined with bronze and ceramic, resulting in a palette with luxurious touches. From the living space, you have a direct view of the cathedral: ideal for the residents and their love of the city. The fireplace can be found here behind the dining table, which means that always a central feature. For De Puydt, long-term quality is a characteristic shared by all their projects without exception. Their varied range of fireplaces is invariably accompanied by their own furniture workshop, making the total decoration of your home like wax in their hands.

Family business De Puydt has been active in the fireplace industry for decades and, from now on, they can call themselves Imagicasa’s youngest partner. Their expert knowledge and mastery aroused our enthusiasm and, in the future, we want to share this with our readers. Their message is clear: a fireplace is more than atmosphere and warmth.
