No interior designer can ignore the functionality of their designs. For Anna Zinkovskaya, the layout is therefore the starting point of the project every time. This assignment she accomplished for a family with two children. We would like to take you to the property in question, where a majestic entrance hall immediately makes a lasting impression and the bedroom was designed with a jewellery box as inspiration.
If you ask Zinkovskaya, the layout of your home should, above all, be clear and straightforward. She puts that opinion into practice without hesitation, and how. From the spacious entrance hall, the residents, for whom she accomplished this task with great enthusiasm, walk smoothly to the adjoining rooms. The living space and kitchen were accommodated in an open concept with more than the necessary desired freedom of movement. There, the island simultaneously functions as a dining table and offers enough space for five people to dine comfortably. A special focus that recurred throughout the creation process was the role of storage space. Thus, the interior designer explains that a few centimetres were considered and the storage systems were concealed as invisibly as possible.
Furthermore, the apartment has a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, a dressing room, two children's bedrooms and another bathroom. Special attention went into the design for the parents' bedroom, because for this the designer was inspired by the idea of a jewellery box. That might be an unexpected twist at first, but you can soon see how that influence translated. For instance, the walls are covered with wooden boiserie panels, which were also provided with special patterns on request. On the floor, a carpet flaunts an intriguing texture, and above the head of the bed, a horned sculpture by Dmitry Rytyaev attracts attention. The intention was for the interior to pay homage to the building's architecture. Therefore, the interior designer played with soft lines and rounded corners, which you can clearly see in the living space, for instance. More so, the room even resembles the inside of a yacht ship in some places. In the bathroom, too, she worked with rounded corners composed of plaster. As for the materials, the intention was to carry natural materials on her hands. Rare veneer in the living space and ceramic cladding are some examples. The colours used are quite muted and soothing, but custom-made furniture ensures that the whole attracts and retains on every level.
A special focus was the role of storage space.
Interior designer Anna Zinkovskaya was able to more than satisfy the clients with an apartment with a thoughtful and practical layout for everyday life. In addition, by making full use of curved shapes, muted tones and maximum hidden storage space, she put a top project next to her name that we won't soon forget.
