In the centre of Murcia, Spain, architectural firm Srta. Rottenmeier created this peaceful retreat. The design is simple and natural, with an eye for detail and softness. Join us in enjoying this interior that immediately appeals and calms.
Srta. (Señorita) Rottenmeier is a Spanish architecture studio founded in 2015 by architects José Manuel Muñoz and Gemma González. In each project, the team goes to extremes and strives for a final result that perfectly integrates creativity and technology. Each project is unique and adapted to the client's needs and wishes, down to the last detail. Aesthetics and functionality are always in harmony. The team likes to use Mediterranean techniques and tries to let as much natural light into every home as possible. Each project is a new challenge and a new opportunity to once again create a beautiful timeless home. Today we are happy to present their Casa Borgoña, a serene home in the middle of the busy city. A first requirement for the design was therefore to seal off the house from the noise as much as possible. The large living room, kitchen and dining room overlook the green areas of the city. The wall with television and fireplace creates a separation between the living and dining rooms. This gives the living space a very open feel, but at the same time it also has several separate corners. Also, the dark grey seats contrast nicely with the lighter shades.
The master bedroom forms something of a separate space within the apartment, a hidden quiet spot within the already calm interior.
As for the materials, a lot of wood and natural stone were chosen. The grey and light brown shades combined with the many organic shapes make this flat an oasis of calm. The striking lamps above the dining table immediately attract attention. The master bedroom, with its own dressing room and bathroom, forms something of a separate space within the apartment, a hidden quiet spot within the already calm interior.
Simplicity is key in this Spanish home, ensuring that attention is not diverted from the whole. Functionality prevails. Thanks to its minimalist style, this is primarily a space to unwind.
