Founded in 2017 by Sophie Gelinet and Cedrip Gepner, HAOS launched its third furniture collection this summer. The Parisian design studio invariably combines contemporary designs with knowledge of traditional craftsmanship.
The furniture pieces were photographed in a unique setting
Design studio HAOS says it owes its specific style to the combination of rawness and sophistication and the pursuit of a timeless, almost ascetic form of beauty. The designs of Sophie Gelinet and Cedric Gepner are also in keeping with the French tradition of the decorative arts and the duo works with some master craftsmen to ensure that the materials receive the best treatment. The two of them find it important to follow the whole production process closely, from the first sketch and choice of material to the finishing touches, to ensure that their ideas are implemented as faithfully as possible. This approach pays off, because even with HAOS' third collection they have once again created something beautiful and unique. In addition, the pieces of furniture were photographed in a unique setting, emphasising their special character even more. Gelinet and Gepner went to a house in Normandy that was designed in the 1950s by a student of Le Corbusier and which radiates an equally timeless look. Those interested in the HAOS collection can visit StudioTwentySeven (USA), The Invisible Collection (UK), Galerie JAG (Paris) and the concept store St Vincents in Antwerp. Some designs are only available in a limited edition (numbered and signed). Craftsmanship takes precedence over mass production, wonderful! Photography: François Coquerel
