- Interior
We find this beautiful beach house on the sand dunes of Blairgowrie. Studio Tom decorated this house, designed by Planned Living Architects, with a neutral and sober palette and let light and nature play the leading role.
From the outside this house looks modern with the clean lines, concrete facades and the structure of rectangular volumes on top of each other. But when you enter, you immediately get a welcoming and homely feeling thanks to the warm and natural palette and the abundance of light. Thanks to the large ceiling-high windows you not only get a lot of light, but also breath-taking views over the beach and the ocean.
The natural beauty of the landscape and stunning views are in the spotlight at Blairgowrie Beach house
The house was designed by Planned Living Architects and the interiors were taken care of by Studio Tom. ‘The rough and exposed location was the catalyst for the design,’ Jay Earles of Planned Living Architects told The Design Files. ‘The site is so exposed to the elements that something sturdy and durable was needed to withstand the weathered vantage point. First and foremost the vision was to create a sense of place, protection and relaxation for the inhabitants.’ The natural beauty of the landscape and stunning views are in the spotlight at Blairgowrie Beach house. The interior has been given a contemporary look and is shrouded in a natural and sober palette of materials and colours with shades of sand from the surrounding area. A perfect combination of cold and warm, rough and soft, interior and exterior. Project team: Interiors by Studio Tom
